Finding Peace When Your Calendar is Chaos
Category: Faith & Life | Read Time: 3 mins
Let’s be honest: life moves fast. Between work deadlines, school schedules, family commitments, and trying to maintain a resemblance of a social life, it’s easy to feel like you’re constantly running on empty. We wear our “busyness” like a badge of honor, but inside, our souls are exhausted.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus offers an invitation that flies completely in the face of our hustle culture:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Notice He doesn’t say, “Come to me when you finally clear your to-do list.” He invites us right into the middle of our mess. If you are feeling overwhelmed this week, here are three simple ways to hit the spiritual pause button:
- Start with 5 Minutes of Silence: Before you check your phone or open your email in the morning, give your first five minutes to God. Sit quietly, breathe deeply, and invite His peace into your day.
- Guard Your “No”: You don’t have to say yes to every invitation or commitment. It’s okay to create space for rest and family time.
- Trade Worry for Worship: When anxiety starts to creep in during your daily commute or chores, turn on a worship song or whisper a quick prayer of gratitude. Shift your focus from the size of your problems to the size of your God.
Step into community: Don’t walk through exhausting seasons alone! Join us this Wednesday night for our mid-week prayer groups. We’d love to pray for you and lock arms with you.
